Want Some Good News?

Want Some Good News?I'm sharing with you an archived SHEPHERD TO SHEEP because it's relavant to the current world economic crisis. I pray it encourages you!

BAD NEWS BLUES

(Prov 3:25-26) Do not be afraid of sudden terror, Nor of trouble from the wicked when it comes; {26} For the LORD will be your confidence, And will keep your foot from being caught.

World news. It can be frightening. Wars and rumors of wars in far off places. Big bullies of this world armed with nukes. Natural disasters killing multitudes. Gas prices spiking. Social security collapsing. Social unrest. Epidemics. Pandemics. And on and on. It can rattle you. It can unnerve you. It can make you feel unsure and insecure. Where can you run? Where can you hide? Should you stay inside and lock the doors? Is there a future for us anymore?

We as Christians have trust and faith in the Lord that God is in control! The Bible predicted that the end times would be filled with anxiety but that doesn’t mean we have to be anxious. God is working out a plan and we can be sure of the Lord’s purpose and design in these last days.
We are not to be afraid of sudden terror. The press knows that these kinds of things sell. Don’t buy into it. Trouble from the wicked will always show up in the news but we don’t have to panic. The Lord will be our confidence in all the bad reports of man’s wicked deeds on planet earth. The Lord is with us and will keep our foot from being caught.

Do you live life confidently in this world of uncertainty? This is how Paul put it: (Rom 8:38-39) For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, {39} nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.Knowing God loves us and will protect us and our families will relieve us from anxiety and give us peace of mind: (1 John 4:18) There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love.

When the world news gets you down, tune into God’s good news, the Bible! Read it and be encouraged. Then when you hear the next batch of world news you won’t be frightened. You will know God is in charge of His universe and has promised to protect and care for His own.

(Isa 41:10) Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.'
